Fish Where The Fish Are…

If your working to build a network marketing business online you may find that
organic traffic can be a little challenging and competitive. Learn how easy it
can be to expand your marketing to more than just trying to rank in the search
engines.

No doubt everyone should have a blog. I like to think that a blog is your home on
the internet. Owning a little piece of the web is one of the best ways to begin
to brand you. We all know that people join people and if your spending your time
trying to market your business…you are wasting time and money.

There is not any shortage of business opportunities online. A couple of minutes
on google searching key terms like, ‘make money online’ will no doubt bring you a
flood of choices. Most people already have a business and need help with
marketing. You quickly get caught up with the ‘My business is better than yours’
argument.

Bad Idea. The second biggest struggle is self development. I would say that
marketing and self development are the 2 biggest struggles people have. If you
want to have fun building your business, look for ways to solve peoples
problems…not offering a new one.

Having a blog is important but do not spend all of your time trying to generate
leads from it. It takes time to rank for keywords and if your sponsoring people
in your business, the first 90 days is very important.

Fish where the fish are.Using tools like listbuilders, classified ads, ezines and even traffic exchanges
can be quick ways to generate leads for a business. But here is the critical point that I want to make.

You need a generic marketing system that covers all of the basis. A system that
allows a new person to leverage the system on their weaknesses. Having the
ability to grow mentally is one of the most important aspects of building your
MLM business.

There are plenty of marketing systems out there that teach people how to market
online. But I can only think of one that teaches people how to become a better
person. Have you ever heard the saying, ‘In order to make more you have to become
more?’

The moral of the story is that people need a marketing system that covers every
area of success. One that is not designed to make the owners rich. One that
allows you to become a professional pointer. One that allows the new person to
begin to brand themselves as the expert.

Help enough people get what they want, kind of a system.

Are You An Email Hoarder?

Have you found yourself subscribing to everything and anything? Next thing you know it your in box is getting emails from so many different places…packed.

I have even gone as far as to get another email account for all of my crap. A ‘Throw-a-way’ email box…Is this crazy or what?

Email is the quickest way to loose focus on your business. There is a big difference between being busy and progress. Sifting and sorting through hundreds of emails each morning is not progress. I have found the easiest way to organize this…

STOP IT!

UN-subscribe from everything you do not need. You can only concentrate on on thing at a time anyway. If you give someone your email address for some free information or a tool you might need, great. But once the information is no longer relevant to your goals…dump it.

Trust me, your not doing anybody any favors for staying on their list…just for the heck of it. If your subscribing to feeds and trying to get ideas, good. Grab a few that you can relate to and organize them into folders.

Gmail is a great tool for this. Take a few moments to regain control of your in box and begin to manage your time better. Spend your energy on your business, not reading about someone else.

Blog Categories, Do They Really Matter?

Did you even know that you can create categories within your blog?
I have seen too many blogs where the post are not even categorized. Now you might think that this is a minor flaw, but if your trying to rank in the search engines then you better listen up.

In case you have not figured this out yet, search engines love fresh, relevant content and they also try really hard to categorize that content. Making it a pleasant process for those that are searching.

First my disclaimer. I am guilty of having a blog that is not always neat and I have not always used categories properly. I am trying to clean up my act a little.

Anyway, back to categories. Think of them as keywords, broad keywords. File your posts within them accordingly and make sure the content is relevant to the category. The Big G and all of the other engines will love this. If your planning your blog, then make certain to do proper keyword research before. Plan for the main keyword you want to rank for and choose several categories. As with everything else do not go over-board with this.

Next time you post something make sure you also have a category for it. You will find as time goes by, more and more of your blog will get noticed. Traffic equals money.

With so many business opportunities available today on the Internet it’s difficult to determine which ones are valid. A flashy website with pictures of money in fancy cars can be deceiving at best. Anyone with a little skill can throw together one of these websites, today’s Internet game can also be outsourced very cheap. Read carefully and find out how to determine which ones are best for you and which ones are scams.

Let’s first begin with taking a look at the actual company itself. There is a clue, is it even a company at all? You should be able to do a little research using your favorite search engine and find out if there’s any negative or legitimate problems with the company. There are plenty of websites out there like MLM watchdog that you can use for free. I would also research company owners and the management. What kind of experience, good or bad do they have in the industry. Be careful where you get your information from, because there are a lot of websites that are designed just to sell you something.

Okay, let’s assume you found a decent company now how about the product. In order for it to be a legitimate company there has to be a real product or service. This one is easy. A good rule of thumb to follow is, would you buy the product or service without the business opportunity attached? If the answer is no, then why would you ever consider the opportunity. Most MLM companies have great products, the problem is they are grossly overpriced. Value pricing is usually non-existent with a lot of companies. Now-a-days the company should be able to compete with traditional storefront businesses. If this is not the case then you will find yourself trying to sell your product.

Compensation plans are usually so confusing that most people have no idea how they are getting paid. This is another red flag waving right in your face. Let’s say you’re looking for a part-time job, wouldn’t you want to know how much you’re going to get paid? If the manager came out and said congratulations you’ve got the job, then hand you a pay plan that you didn’t understand. Wouldn’t you want the pay plan explained? Of course you would, salaries are easy to explain and compensation plans should be too. The best compensation plan is the one that pays the most money with the least amount of people. Now I’m talking about average volume, not some cash gifting scam. The industry average of volume for a distributor product purchase is around $150 a month. If the company you’re looking at requires more money than the industry average to qualify for the pay plan, this is another flag.

You probably have noticed that I have not mentioned anything about fancy websites, piles of money or pictures of big houses within this article. They have nothing to do with your success or whether or not you’re involved with a legitimate residual income business opportunity. Follow these simple steps and increase your chances for success by working with the right company.

Twitter is currently restricting the feature that many sites use like twitter karma. One of the biggest is the ability to un-follow someone. Those that used twitter karma in the past will no longer be able to use this feature.

This was a nice feature and if I may predict I am sure that there are sites now that will charge for this…oh-well. I guess you have to decide how important this was for you.
