I am sure that if you have been marketing online for any amount of time you have heard the saying, the money is in the list. Well, unfortunately most people do not even have a list. Lets see if we can change that.

If you ask 100 people that are looking to create additional income from home what their 2 biggest struggles are…most of the time it would be lead generation. Finding people to talk to is one of the biggest reasons people fail in this industry. Here is why.

They do not have a list.

The list I am talking about is a daily action plan for getting leads. So many of us fall victim of this, including myself. We all get caught up with checking our email, watching some video or looking for the magic bullet for generating leads.

This type of activity will never grow your business. Busy work I call it. If you have only an hour to work, email will suck the energy and that hour away.

The only way you will ever be able to generate your own leads is to learn one of the skills. Once you begin to generate leads you learn another skill. Your ultimate goal should be to have 4 or 5 places that are generating you leads on a daily basis.

If you have 2 leads a day coming in from 4 or 5 places…wow that is about 10 leads a day. I do not know anyone that would turn down 10 leads a day. Folks you have to start somewhere.

I have found a great and reliable tool for your marketing efforts. It called K7 and it is a free voicemail online telephone number. Using a phone number with your marketing can add creditability to any advertising campaign. Folks want to know that they can speak to a real person.

Using your home telephone number is OK after you have developed a relationship with your prospect. But for your advertising campaigns, which are worldwide, you need something a little more professional. Plus, the last thing you want is to be called at all hours of the night. Even worse is to use your cellphone number with your advertising. If your not on one of those unlimited plans this can get real expensive quickly.

One of the best features with K7 is you have the ability to leave a custom outgoing message (greeting). This makes the option even more personable. Once someone calls your free voicemail online number, K7 automatically sends you an email with the voicemail attached. Listen to the message on your computer anytime you want.

K7 also has the ability to accept faxes. Those are also sent to your email address. K7 provides you with your own unique telephone number and the area code is out of Washington State, here in the US. I have been using this service for over a year now without any problems at all.

It is really easy to set up. Just go to K7.net and click the sign up button at the top. Once on that screen type in your email address and choose a 4 digit pin number. This pin number is your security code whenever you need to log in or call K7 to change your greeting. Complete the choices on how you want to receive your messages. I would recommend choosing a nationwide plan (its all free of course).

Once you have your account created call and set up your personalized greeting. Make sure to change all of your future advertising campaigns to your new K7 number. That’s it, your own personalized free voicemail online telephone number is set up and ready to work hard for you.

Gmail Marketing Tutorials-Using Canned Response

Be sure to watch the video about gmail marketing and follow along using these notes. If you do not know what labs are let me explain a bit. Labs are great little programs that you can add-on to your gmail account. Its worth the time to browse them and see which ones can make your email life better. Here is a simple guide to the lab, canned response.

Canned response is a nifty little gadget that allows you to store email responses to commonly replied to emails. You create the response and upload it into your gmail account. then when someone emails you, just click the reply button and select the ‘canned response’ stored. Next..just click send! Sweet deal. You can also use this lab along with filters. Telling canned response to automatically reply certain messages to emails with specific words in the title or whatever you have filtered.

Your first step is to log into your gmail account. Then click the green beaker on the top right corner of the screen. This will take you to the area where you can browse all of the labs. Scroll down and find canned emails and check enable. The scroll down to the bottom and click save or continue. (I don’t remember which)

I like to create and edit my emails using notepad or something similar. I create everything for the subject, body and signature within. Be sure to spell check prior to saving the document. You can use any word processing program for that, then copy the email back into notepad.

Next click on the compose email and click on the body of the email. Now you want to look for the hyperlink ‘canned response’ just above the subject line. Next to the hyperlink will be an upside down triangle. Click that and select new canned response. Be sure to give it a title and click save.
That’s it!

Now you can use that saved email for any replies. When someone emails you click the reply button and insert the canned response of your choice! If you placed your subject line inside the body, be sure to copy and paste it into the subject box. Then delete it out of the body.
