Here is a quick marketing guide to getting your videos ranked on the first page of Google. First you want to do a little keyword research. Find those words and terms that are getting some searching and grab the low hanging fruit or the ones that are not too competitive. I like to have at least 1000 searches a month and a competition of less than 15,000.

After you find your term go ahead and create your video. I always upload it to youtube first. Be sure to include your main keyword in your title. In you description be sure to put your website URL in the first sentence of the description box. Finish off with a nice description of your video.

You can also create an account with tube mogul and upload your video to multiple sites. This is a free service with limitations about sharing marketing videos.

Next step you will want to write a short blog post (if you have a blog) or create a squidoo lens about your video. Be sure to link back to your video using anchor text with your keywords. This is a very important step in this process. Think of it as advertising for your video. Promote the promotion.

Once your done with your squidoo lens head over to your favorite pinging site. Ping goat or pingomatic and ping your squidoo lens. You should also create an account with onlywire or socialmarker so you can bookmark your video. This is a huge time saver an you can post to about 20 different sites at the click of a button.

That is it. If you complete all the steps correctly I can promise you will hit the first page of Google every time. Marketing with video, every step is important and if you miss one or pick a bad keyword, forget it. Your video will be buried in the pile with the rest of the marketers that decide to take short cuts.

The Start Of A New Day

Good Morning! I say that with excitement because I do have so much to be thankful for.

This past week the news has been filled with the deaths of some very popular celebrity figures. The most recent the death of ‘Pitchman’ Billy Mays.

I have not spent a whole lot of time thinking about Michael Jackson, Farah or Ed’s passing but for some reason Billy Mays stayed in my thoughts for awhile. It does not matter if you liked his famous commercials or not, he was someone most everybody knew.

I must admit that I enjoyed watching his show on discovery, Pitchman. Actually my kids liked to too. The process of taking someone’s invention and marketing it to millions of viewers was pretty cool. What a great feeling it must have been for Billy to watch so many achieve the American dream of success, with their inventions.

I am sure all of Billy’s close friends and family will miss him. I know his fans will miss him, hearing that loud introduction….’I'm Billy Mays’

I guess hearing about Billy’s death hit a little closer to home for me because I enjoy selling, or sharing something that I like and use with others. I enjoy learning about the whole marketing process. This was Billy’s concept; he used everything that he put his name on. Sure it was his business, but he was always careful about what product or service he sold.

A good friend once told me, “Funerals are for the living.” So true…

So today let us all reflect a little on someone we have lost, but do not make it an excuse, not to get done the things that make it a great day for us and everyone around.
